What is the A4M?
A4M is an acronym for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and is certainly much easier to say being three syllables rather than 16. The A4M was founded in 1991 and has over 26,000 members representing 1o5 countries. It has two websites; one for professionals at a4M.com and a second educational website at WorldHealth.net. It is one of the largest medical organizations. For instance, the American Society for Sports Medicine or AMSSM has 2,700 members and it was also founded in 1991.
What Does the A4M Do?
The A4M is dedicated to the advancement of technologies that detect, prevent, and treat age-related diseases. It also supports research in treatments that delays aging and enhances optimizes human aging. It’s goal is to extend the quantity and enhance the quality of the human lifespan. The A4M sponsors dozens of educational activities annually. It hosts medical conferences around the United States each year and has hosted up to 30 international medical conferences in a year as well
The A4M provides certification in anti-aging medicine and provides more advanced training for physicians through it various fellowship programs with each fellowship program involving a different component of anti-aging medicine. The organization provides fellowship training in the following areas:
- Anti-aging and regenerative medicine
- Aesthetics
- Stem cells
- Integrative cancer treatments
And, the A4M offers a Masters in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine. Through all these educational activities the A4M trains 50,000 physicians a year.
WorldHealth
The A4M’s educational website at WorldHealth is a vast educational resource for physicians and the public. It contains a large library of information of medical topics including sections for men’s health, women’s health, and nutrition and supplements. The site also has a directory of physicians that provide anti-aging medicine services.
Summaries of the latest research in anti-aging medicine are available weekly making it easy for the person who wants live life to its fullest to stay abreast important health issues that affect the aging process.
